The older I get, the more in-depth my outlook on life becomes. I used to think that the world was the way I saw it. I mean, I have 20/20 vision (thank you laser-eye surgery, PEW PEW!), so it can’t be me right?
So why is it that sometimes two people can witness the same incident/conversation, and come out of it with completely ways of how shit went down? Perception man, perception.
I found this lost footage of my cousins, the Silveira Brothers playing Portuguese-style hacky sack. It was just in a box that said CLASSIFIED on it. I have no idea how old it is!

I want to thank all of the Deck Wars cast and crew for such a super fun experience. I hope you guys had as much fun as we did! Sorry about all my shitty jokes!
Most of the time, I am completely blindsided with the fact that I’m a grown up. I know that might sound silly, but if you hung out with me and my friends, you’ll quickly realize we are just a bunch of kids in these silly adult bodies. Pretty gross really.
I am often brought back to this reality when I hang out with real children, and they come to me for advice. Just a few days ago, while visiting family for a get together, my tiny nephew came up to me and asked “Uncle Helder, where do basements come from?”.
Hey guys, I just got word that I booked my very first TV gig ever!!
You’re probably wondering what kind of job it is. Maybe I booked a part on a TV show? Starring in a commercial? Live stand-up set recording?
No no. Much better. You see, I have no idea how good of an actor I am. I’m probably the worst. In fact, I remember when I used to take acting lessons, that I never knew what to do with my hands. Read the rest of this entry »
For the third year in a row, my dear friend Pat Thornton will be performing a 24hr Stand-up comedy set to raise money for the Dare to Remember Campaign. The money we raise will go directly to support the inspiring transformation in sub-Saharan Africa, where community-based organizations are working to turn the tide of AIDS.
Usually when you hear someone say that, it means that the person they are describing is very passionate about something, and is very persistent. You’ll often hear of a sports team, or an MMA fighter as being someone with a big heart, meaning they won’t quit. No matter what.
Or you might be thinking of someone very nice and caring, full of love, as someone with a big heart.
Both are right. I always considered my younger brother as someone with a big heart. He has always been so nice and kind to everyone he meets, people fall in love with him instantly. In recent years I even got to play organized sports with him, and was amazed by him. Read the rest of this entry »
I went to a celebrity-style roast last friday, where comedian Cole Osborne was burned huge. Cole and his girlfriend Julie Dumais were leaving the city for a few months to go work on a cruise ship. So naturally, all of his friends wanted to spend the last night just slinging huge burns at him.
All the comics on the stage were pros. They could all take it as well as they could give it, and man could they give it. As absolutely hilarious as it was, it also made me cringe through 80% of it. I couldn’t get really comfortable for the whole show. Read the rest of this entry »
