Episode Nine of “Helder Brum and Friends” with Daryn McIntyre!

In episode nine of the Helder Brum and Friends podcast, one of my favourites, Daryn McIntyre pays me a visit waaaaaaaay up here in the tree house! Daryn McIntyre is quickly making a big place for himself in my heart, both as a comedian and a real cool friend. You can listen to the episode here, or download it free on iTunes!

Daryn is a hot commodity in the sketch comedy world, and is a member of The Sketchersons (a goddamn Canadian comedy institution), as a part of PRIMO (Facebook) (Twitter)  , I highly recommend both of these shows. BIG TIME!

Please make sure to follow Daryn on Twitter!

Also follow @HBandFshow on Twitter, and please give the show a 5 STAR rating on iTunes, and leave a nice comment. It would really help!

Also huge shout out to FunDMC (Daryn McIntyre) for writing and recording the official “Helder Brum and Friends” theme song. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! He’s the best, make sure you follow him on Twitter!

New episodes will begin to drop weekly, every Monday.

Thanks everyone!

My Second Short Film “The Guidance Counselor”

I would like to personally thank everyone for all the amazing feed back on my first short film, “The Doctor“. The reviews have been amazing, and I’m proud to share with you that I have been contacted by The Toronto International Film Festival and Cannes. Both festivals are want to show my film! Everything is happening so fast, but I’m still trying to keep a level head.

We took some serious risks with this latest film, Read the rest of this entry »

PB and J Comedy

PB and J poster

Hey guys, if you love things that are amazing, you will love this! A couple of months ago I was brought on as the producer/manager of one of my favourite comedy shows in the city, The PB and J sketchprov show. If you haven’t seen this show you, you have to. It’s the best!

PB and J always invites the best guests to come out and perform on the show (1 musical guest, 1 comedy guest). Also, every single show is hosted by the Batman! It’s hard for me to decide if Batman is better at hosting, or fighting crime. Read the rest of this entry »

Stand-up Club: The Show

I took this photo with that Hipstamatic app. Do you love it?

The very first “Stand-up Club: The Show” took place on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at The Crown and Tiger Bar in Toronto. The first show was jam-packed with exceptionally funny comedians. Along with all three members of Stand-up Club, we had Georgea-Brooks Hancock and Fraser Young join us. They are both so hilarious, I was so excited about this line up.

This show is an outlet for a tight-knit group of comedians, who are striving to produce a lot more material, and do a lot more sets. The goal should be to do a new 10 minutes set from the last time you were on the show. Eventually, by always trying to produce a lot more material, the ability to headline is there.

Basically we created a show for ourselves, that will allow us to learn how to host, open, middle and headline a showcase show. Instead of waiting around for someone else to give us that opportunity, we just make it happen. Read the rest of this entry »

Best Weekend Ever- The Todd Glass Experience

Todd Glass Poster, Comedy Bar, Todd Glass, Comedy

Wow, I had the best weekend last week you guys! I’ll try my best not to ramble on and on too much while going through it. For anyone who reads my blog regularly, or knows me, you know that last weekend was a big one for me. Me and one of my best friends Pat Thornton had the opportunity to open for the hilarious Todd Glass!

I had been looking forward to this weekend so badly, for so long. In preparation for this show, Pat and I were doing 9-12 sets a week leading up to it. All of these extra sets worked wonders as far as fine tuning new jokes, and overall tightening up our sets. Basically, doing all these extra sets would be like the equivalent to a fighter ramping up his or her training camp before a big fight.  Not every “work out” we did was a glamorous one, most of them can be referred to as just another day in a stinky gym.
